Future Projects

Next Up for The C+E District

Not yet under construction, these projects envisioned as part of the Rivers District Master Plan, will be planned and delivered over the coming years. These important connectors will weave together the current projects to create an integrated neighbourhood that’s welcoming to both residents and visitors.

BMO Convention Centre Hotel

The BMO Convention Centre Hotel will be a 4-4.5 diamond boutique lifestyle hotel with a minimum of 220 rooms, four food and beverage offerings, and expanded amenities including a fitness centre and 11,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. The hotel itself will have a prime location in the heart of The C+E at the southwest intersection of Stampede Trail and 12 Ave S.E., just steps away from the expanded BMO Centre, the Scotiabank Saddledome, Cowboys Casino and dozens of restaurants and retailers. Best of all, there will be a direct connection to the new dramatically expanded BMO Centre.

RiverWalk Stage 2

With Stage 1 complete along the Bow River in East Village, the popular riverside promenade will extend two kilometres, from Fort Calgary along the banks of the Elbow, through Enmax Park and connecting pathway users to Reader Rock Garden and Lindsay Park on The District’s south edge.

6th Street Underpass

This future project creates a critical north-south connection to East Village and surrounding communities and allows for flexibility on Stampede Trail and increased possibilities for riverfront residential in The District. The underpass will be delivered in coordination with the City of Calgary’s anticipated Green Line LRT.

Event Centre

The C+E, already home to the Scotiabank Saddledome, serving the Calgary Flames, Hitmen, Wranglers and Roughnecks, is the future address of an expanded Event Centre which will host some of the regions' most unique experiences.
