Hotel Development

Anchored by the expanded BMO Centre, the new Victoria Park/Stampede Station, the 17th
Avenue SE Extension, and the future event centre, Scotia Place, The Culture + Entertainment District is more connected than ever—and attracting more visitors, events, and energy to the area.

As activity in the district grows, so does the need for new places to stay. With several prime sites identified, The C+E offers compelling opportunities for hotel development to serve Calgarians and visitors alike.

With the BMO Centre now open, the 17th Avenue SE Extension creating a bold new entrance, the new at-grade Victoria Park/Stampede Station activated, and construction well underway on the future event centre, The C+E is entering a new era of connection and activity. And the development community is taking note.

As Calgary’s year-round destination for celebration and connection, The C+E is welcoming more people, hosting more events and offering more reasons to stay. To meet growing demand, three high-potential hotel sites have been identified—each one located in the heart of the action.

From full-service hotels designed for convention-goers to boutique stays made for concerts, hockey nights and city getaways, The C+E is ready for a new wave of hospitality that reflects the energy and diversity of the district itself.

We’re building a place where Calgarians and visitors want to be. And that includes places
to stay the night.

What’s Happening Now

Truman Hotel

This isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a front-row seat to everything happening in The District. Rising 13 storeys at the west entrance to Stampede Park, the new 320-room boutique hotel by Truman brings bold design, big energy, and a full suite of amenities—restaurants, a pool, meeting spaces, and more.

With the expanded BMO Centre right next door, the current Scotiabank Saddledome and future Scotia Place steps away, and all the buzz of The C+E just outside your door, this hotel is made for delegates, dreamers, dealmakers and diehard fans. Check in—and step right into the action.

Why It Matters

The need for hotel rooms in The C+E has never been greater. With the BMO Centre now open as Western Canada’s largest convention facility, a new event centre underway, and a packed calendar of events and festivals, the district is welcoming more people—and offering more reasons to stay.

This hotel marks the first full-service convention-oriented hotel built in downtown Calgary in 25 years. It’s a major investment in the future of the district, unlocking opportunities for longer visits, bigger events, and better experiences for everyone who gathers here.

Elevating the Stay

The Truman hotel is expected to break ground in late 2025 and be completed in 2028.
