As The Culture + Entertainment District takes shape, we’re laying the groundwork for what’s to come—literally.
Through a series of major infrastructure upgrades, we’re building better connections between people, places and experiences across The District. From new and improved streets to stronger connections and safer crossings, this work is essential to unlocking future development and making it easier for everyone to get here—and move through here.
What’s Happening
25 Avenue Connector
New lighting, line painting and wayfinding to improve visibility and navigation
Where it’s at: Construction began in 2025.
14 Avenue SE
Widening to four lanes with lane-reversal capacity for flexible traffic management
Where it’s at: Construction anticipated for 2026/2027
6 Street SE Underpass
A new north-south connection under the rail line to improve access to Stampede Park
Where it’s at: Enabling works underway.
Flores LaDue Parade
One new eastbound lane to help with traffic flow after big events
Where it’s at: Construction began in 2025
5A Street SE
Upgraded to a three-lane road with lane-reversal capabilities
Where it’s at: Construction anticipated for 2026/2027
Stampede Trail
The C+E's main street enabling future commercial and retail development, it's the future home to sidewalk patios and local boutiques.
Where it’s at: Construction underway. Anticipated to be completed in 2026/2027, in alignment with the Scotia Place project.
Why it Matters
This is city-building work—the kind that makes room for the big stuff. These improvements support the seamless integration of Scotia Place into the fabric of the neighbourhood but also unlock future development potential, and help create a more welcoming, walkable district that’s ready to grow.
