Hey, doggo! Are you pawsitive you’ve got what it takes to be The Mayor of the Culture + Entertainment District? This election is your chance to show off your bark-tastic leadership skills, wagging tail diplomacy, and fur-midable charm. Fill out your campaign application below and let’s see if you’re cut out for the ulti-mutt job!
Nominations accepted: September 18 - 28, 2025
Voting (Primaries): October 3 - 14, 2025
Voting (Top 5): October 17 - 24, 2025
Winner announced: Sunday, October 26th, 2025

Rules & Regulations:
Eligibility:
Open to all dogs! Dogs must enter online from September 18 - 28.
Please note: employees of CMLC are not eligible to enter this contest.
One Entry Per Dog:
Each dog can only be entered once, and entering as a group is not allowed, but feel free to campaign widely and encourage friends to vote!
Voting (Primaries)
The first round of online voting is open October 3 - 14, 2025. This will decide the top 5 dogs. Only one vote/person/day will be accepted during this time period BUT to make it into the top 5, dogs will be scored based on a matrix including weight for Social Media, Event Participation and Community Spirit.
Voting (Final)
Voting for the top 5 is open from October 17 - 24, 2025. Only one vote/person/day will be accepted during this time period. The winner will be announced at the Pixel Park Birthday Bash on October 26.
Choosing the Top 5
We’re not just picking the most popular pup - we’re looking for the next great ambassador of The C+E! Top 5 dogs are selected based on a mix of public votes, community participation, social media enthusiasm, and that special something that makes them mayor material using the matrix here.
To be eligible for the Top 5, your dog must attend at least one photo op event during the voting period.
Mayoral Photo Ops
There will be two opportunities to capture an official campaign photograph at Pixel Park with Portrait Calgary
· October 3 | 3 – 6pm
· October 10 | 3 – 6pm
To be eligible for the Top 5, your dog must attend at least one campaign photo-op during the primaries voting period.
Dog Training Sessions
These complimentary training sessions are provided by certified dog trainers from Canidapt and Woofton Dog Training. The first hour will focus on enrichment training, and the second hour will be skill training.

The prize will be awarded at the Pixel Park Birthday Bash on October 26th, 2025.

Winning Dog Mayor of The Culture + Entertainment District means taking home an amazing prize pack.
But the title comes with more than just bragging rights — it comes with responsibility.
Our Dog Mayor should:
Be a good ambassador for Pixel Park and The C+E community
Be available to attend a few key events throughout the year (like pop-ups, birthday parties, photo ops – or even walking in a parade)
Be willing to be featured on social media with photos, fun facts, and updates from the "mayoral office" and collaborate on social media posts with The C+E.
Be up for the occasional paw-litical duty — like wearing a bandana or posing for campaign content 🐶📸
Attend the Pixel Park Birthday Bash 2025 where the winner will be announced
